Pure Moroccan Saffron Picked by Hand at Dawn
Every autumn, the women of Taznakht wake before sunrise to gather each crocus by hand in the cold Atlas fields. Their deep red threads are sealed in our signature jar for your kitchen.
Before the Sun Rises, They’re Already in the Fields
Every autumn, the women of Taznakht wake at 4 am and walk into the cold, dark fields with baskets on their arms. The crocus must be picked before the sun opens the flower, so they work in the freezing hours before dawn.
This is their craft and their living, a skill passed from mother to daughter. Every jar of Atlas Blooms carries their work.

About Our Saffron
Where does Atlas Blooms saffron come from?
It is grown and hand-picked by local families in Taznakht, in the Ouarzazate region of southern Morocco, in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
When is saffron harvested?
The season is short and falls in autumn, usually October and early November. Flowers are picked by hand at dawn.
Why is saffron so expensive?
Each flower gives only three red threads, and every flower is picked and sorted by hand. About 150 flowers make one gram.
How should I store my saffron?
Keep the jar closed in a cool, dark, dry place, away from heat and sunlight, to protect its colour and aroma.
